IRTSA Successfully Conducted Informational Webinar For The Citizens Of Sweden
July 2, 2010, International Company IRTSA in cooperation with Clinic of Reproductive Medicine ‘Neomed’ (Kyiv) and Legal Company ‘Medical Law Center’ supported by Panamedical Consulting Ltd. (London) conducted informational webinar ‘Infertility treatment and reproductive technologies in Ukraine'. Webinar agenda included today’s most important medical, organizational and legal issues on ART programmes in Ukraine, in particular:
- up-to-date standards of assisted reproductive technologies support (shortly ART) for foreign citizens;
- Ukrainian experience in third-party reproduction (surrogacy, donation) and its legal support;
- medical aspects of ART (most effective IVF protocols, donation etc.);
- peculiarities of legal regulation of ART in Ukraine and package of the main legal services in this area;
- document validation and exit of Swedish citizens children born through ART in Ukraine.
Lyudmyla Smahina, MA, CEO of IRTSA (International Reproductive Technologies Support Agency), highlighted organizational issues of assisted reproductive technologies in Ukraine. Special interest of participants was paid to the scheme of carrying out of reproductive programme, peculiarities of surrogate mothers’ supervision, requirements to donors and surrogate mothers.
Prof. Nataliia Dankovych, MD, CEO of one of the top Ukrainian reproductive clinics “Neomed”, made a report about achievements of Ukrainian reproductive medicine. Seminar participants received comprehensive information about medical specific features of the main reproductive programmes and also about the number of visits to Ukraine an infertile couple should accomplish in different treatment programmes.
Vladimir Kotlik, PhD, CMO of reproductive clinic “Neomed” informed the audience about scope of reproductive medicine capabilities of the clinic today. In his videomessage he raised the issue of birth rate in European countries and encouraged couples not to wait too long but start fertility treatment as soon as possible.
Adv. Sergii Antonov, CEO of Medical Law Center, in his videomessage made report on the peculiarities of contractual relations between the participants of reproductive programmes, legal aspects of document drawing up for a child and also about aspects of legal protection of Intended Parents, Surrogates and Donors in Ukraine.
Lyudmyla Yakubenko, LLM, lawyer of Medical Law Center provided the participants with the information about registration of children born through ART in Ukraine, requirements of Swedish Embassy, which are to be followed while leaving Ukraine with a child as well as about category of couples clinics and companies of Ukraine are eligible to work with.
Webinar contained three blocks: organizational, medical and legal aspects of ART. After each of it the participants could ask their questions about organization of ART in Ukraine, medical services, amount of visits to Ukraine, guest services, cost, peculiarities of document processing, etc.
In the final part of the webinar all interested had an opportunity to schedule free of charge Skype-consultations.
