Czech Republic: Changes In Assisted Reproduction Law

On 6th November 2011 the Parliament of the Czech Republic approved a package of reform acts which concerns assisted reproduction and supersedes the previous legislation. According to the approved modification only women no older than 49 years could undergo assisted reproduction treatment. The law contains temporary provisions as well and patients already undergoing the treatment will probably have the possibility to transfer the already created embryos. The law also modifies handling with unused embryos. This law should come into force in the first quarter of 2012.
