Michelle Keegan Is Positive About Surrogacy
Michelle Keegan says she would now "never rule out" becoming a surrogate mum.
The Coronation Street star said researching her character Tina McIntyre's most recent thought-provoking storyline has "totally" changed her mind about surrogacy.
Appearing on ITV1's This Morning today, she said: "I would never rule it out now, ever.
"If someone really needed my help I would never rule that out... or if I needed [a surrogate], yeah, one hundred per cent."
Michelle, 25, revealed to hosts Phillip Schofield and Ruth Langsford that she had met several surrogate mothers as she researched the storyline, which sees Tina carrying a baby for pals Izzy Armstrong and Gary Windass.
And she said these mums completely changed her way of thinking about the process.
She said: "I met a lady called Jo who was amazing, and I think no-one really talks about surrogacy, it's a bit of a taboo subject, and she basically said 'I've had my own children and I wanted to help other people have children'.
"And I couldn't get my head around it at first but when she told me the stories of how she did it and how she got to know the families as well, it's just amazing, it's an amazing gift."
And the pretty brunette confessed that she is now loving getting to wear a fake pregnancy bump.
She said: "I love it, I've been waiting for that bump for years - I love it. But I can actually feel myself walking around like I'm pregnant and sitting down like I'm pregnant!"
Ruth then asked the soap star, who split from her The Wanted fiancé Max George in July, if the role was making her broody.
And Michelle admitted: "Yeah, I'm always broody anyway - I love kids!"
