Border Guards Detained Swiss Female Citizen at Boryspil International Airport. She Tried to Illegally Take Three-month-old Baby out from Ukraine
20 March at the Boryspil International Airport when registering on flight Kyiv-Milan border guards drew their attention to a mature foreign pair, which was going to leave the country with a nurseling. A 66-year-old female citizen of Switzerland and her 39-year-old son, citizen of Italia, tried to take a three-month-old girl out from Ukraine.
The border guards were alerted because the foreigners did not have any documents on the child, except, certificate on return to Italy issued in Embassy of Italy in Ukraine. As it turned out the child was born in one of Kyiv reproductive clinics. According to the foreign citizens the child was absolutely legally taken out. However, they did not provide border guards with any documentary evidence of this fact (medical certificate, birth certificate). Actually, they did not explain whether such documents existed.
Under the circumstances the border guards temporally refused departure of the Swiss female citizen together with the child and informed about this the Central Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and Kyiv region.
