DIY IVF kit
18.07.2013
A no frills DIY IVF kit could be available within a couple of years - for under $500.
A study in Belgium has found that a basic kit is as successful as conventional fertility techniques.
The technique - which combines bicarbonate of soda and citric acid in a test-tube to reach the optimum Ph levels for conception - achieved the same results as far more costly techniques which use carbon dioxide in incubators.
The pioneering method was designed for developing countries, where there's a huge stigma placed on infertility, and most couples can't afford treatment.
