Plastic bottles are dangerous for pregnancy

15.10.2013

As stated by experts from Stanford University, plastic food containers and water bottles contain compounds ( bisphenol -F and phthalates ) which increase the risk of miscarriage by 80 %. Particularly dangerous it is to use such dishes for heating food in a microwave oven, since the temperature increase accelerates the penetration of harmful compounds from plastic in foods.

Also it is dangerous to keep in the sun for long plastic bottles with water - level of bisphenol A in water is increased by such heating, approximately 1000 times.

At the same time, scientists have not yet found the exact answer to the question, what is the cause of this effect of bisphenol -A. Studies have shown that women who are at risk for miscarriage, had in blood the highest concentration of the compound.

In addition to bisphenol- A, are also dangerous the phthalates in plastics, however, mainly for men. Due to hormonal imbalance, phthalates reduce the likelihood of conception by 20 %. However, the ability of women to conceive is not affected by phthalates.
