For the study of sperm scientists have proposed to use nanoparticles
Researchers from Oxford University conducted experiments with sperm of boars. Scientists were able to "connect " with the sperm silicon nanoparticles, and now researchers plan to find out whether these nanoparticles work when they are filled with any active ingredients, as well as repeat experiments already with human sperm.
"Nanoparticles are like empty envelopes that can be filled with different substances, and placed in a cell. Nanoparticles that we use do not interact with the sperm, which makes them an excellent means of delivery," - commented on the results of research work manager Natalia Barkalina.
Scientists hope that in the future this technique will identify the causes of infertility of unknown etiology, and they may carry out treatment, delivering nanoparticles using drugs directly into the germ cells.
