Specialists created an artificial protein for male infertility treatment
12.08.2014
In the FASEB journal were published results of a study in which scientists were able to successfully synthesize protein for the treatment of male infertility.
Protein PAWP, which is contained in spermatozoidsis, is required for embryo development from the fertilized egg. Disabled protein in spermatozoids leads to infertility.
Impossibility of embryo development is a form of infertility. There is still ways to treat male infertility that are focused on stage of fertilization. But according to statistics, only in 37% of cases, such treatment leads to success.
Authors of the study hope that the protein PAWP can be used for a new method of treatment.
