In Japan, a child was born from 13-year old frozen egg

In Japan, the child was born, which was conceived as a result of egg fertilization, frozen thirteen years ago. Popular Japanese magazine notes that the egg was frozen due to illness of future mother.

In 2001, when the mother of the child was in high school, she was found the cancer. Due to detected lymphoma she could lose the ability for maternity, precisely because the danger of chemotherapy she decided for an egg freezing.

All of these thirteen years "biomaterial" was in Japanese cryo-clinic. In the end, the treatment was successful, and in 2013 she got married. Fertilization was conducted by doctors using the IVF method, and then fertilized egg was transplanted back to mother.

The birth occurred in August, and now the baby is perfectly healthy. As noted, even though that is seen clear progress in the field of artificial insemination, the birth of a child from the egg, which was frozen for more than ten years, is a big rarity in Japan.
