Princess of Monaco gave birth to twins
Evening of December 10, over the Principality of Monaco sounded 42 volleys of artillery salute, thus ushering in the appearance of an heir to the throne.
The birth of an heir, according to tradition, is celebrated by 21 gulp - but this time its number was doubled because Charlize Princess gave birth to twins! Such an event in the princely family of Grimaldi happened for the first time in the 700-year history of the race.
Prince Albert II and Charlene got married in July 2011. And only in April 2014 was officially announced the news about pregnancy of 36-year-old princess. There were persistent rumors that the couple took advantage of the IVF procedure (it should be noted that the birth of twins indicates that these rumors are not unfounded).
Future parents refused to recognize the sex of children - so the birth of a boy and girl was a surprise.
"This is one of the most wonderful surprises that life can present us," - said the 56-year-old prince.
The girl was born two minutes before her brother; however under the laws the throne of Monaco will be inheritted exactly by him.
