IVF technology becomes more efficient
Danish scientists published the results of a large study of children's health who were born as a result of IVF procedure.
Thus, the study analyzed the health of 92,000 children born between 1988 and 2007 with the help of ART and over half a million children conceived naturally during the same period.
Such indicators were compared to the number of premature births, stillbirths, extremely low birth weight and death during the first year of life.
Based on the results of the study it was found that the number of pathologies in infants after in vitro fertilization is on the same level as that in children conceived naturally.
In addition, the researchers noted a significant decline in birth after IVF procedure premature infants or infants with very low birth weight (less than 1500 g).
This is due to the improvement of IVF technology - including limiting the number of embryos a woman transferred into the womb, which reduces the risks of multiple pregnancies with all its possible complications.
