Australian government warns parents to not commission surrogacy in Nepal
The Australian Government strongly recommends commissioning parents not to consider surrogacy in Nepal until Nepal puts in place robust arrangements, particularly around the recognition of legal parentage and protections for those engaged in surrogacy procedures.
Indian Surrogacy Laws had long back only informed the lack of laws governing surrogacy in Nepal and how the doctors/ivf/clinics were luring innocent Intended Parents to fly to Nepal.
Australians who are considering surrogacy in Nepal should consult with a lawyer and contact the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIPB) office at Australia’s High Commission in New Delhi (+91 11 4122 1000) before entering into any arrangement.
