Ten years ago, 23 -year-old Lotte was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. The woman had to go through chemotherapy, which could not lead to infertility. But doctors at the Department of Reproductive Medicine Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm before chemotherapy froze her healthy ovarian tissue.
Lotte has been successfully treated for cancer, and in summer of 2012 she had her healthy ovarian tissue transplanted. After a course of hormonal stimulation and artificial insemination she got pregnant. In the hospital of the city of Eskilstuna Mälarsjukhuset was born the daughter of Lotte and her husband Magnus named Freya.
According to the doctor who performed the transplantation of ovarian tissue, Kenya Rodriguez - Wallberg, worldwide, there are only 25 children who were born after such an operation.
